Complete Gardens
A full garden transformation is really five or six trades stacked on top of each other — clearance, groundwork, drainage, walling, paving and planting. Split across different contractors it drags on for months and everyone blames the last lot. We do the whole thing ourselves, in sequence, and stay until it's done.
That means the levels get set before the paving goes down, the drainage goes in before the turf, and the retaining walls are built to hold what's actually behind them. It's the boring order-of-work stuff that decides whether a garden still looks right in three years or whether the lawn is under water every February.
Sloping plots, waterlogged lawns, overgrown gardens that haven't been touched in a decade — those are the jobs we get called for. Recent transformations in Bersham and Marchwiel, with turfing, drainage, sleeper walls, gravel borders and full paving.
The Work
Take the lot or pick the parts you need — we'll price it either way.
Overgrowth stripped out, trees and stumps removed, old structures broken up and everything carted off site.
Waterlogged lawns and standing water sorted with proper falls, land drains and soakaways before anything is laid.
Timber sleeper walls, rock-face block and stone steps to turn a sloping garden into flat, usable space.
Fresh topsoil and lawn turf, decorative gravel borders, edging and planting beds to finish the garden off.
The Process
Four stages, always in this order. Skip one and you pay for it later.
Everything that's going, goes: overgrowth, stumps, old slabs, rotten decking and fencing, all carted away.
Ground reshaped and dug to depth, land drains and falls set in, retaining walls built to hold the new levels.
Sub-bases laid and compacted, then paving, paths, steps, edging and any walling or fencing goes in.
Topsoil graded, turf laid, gravel and planting beds finished, and the whole site swept and washed down.

Questions

There's no honest average, because a flat 40 square metre plot and a sloping garden that needs three retaining walls and a land drain aren't the same job. What drives the price is groundwork — how much comes out, how much goes in, and how much has to be carted away.
We come out, measure, talk through what you want, and give you a free written quote broken down by section so you can see where the money is going and drop anything you don't need.
A straightforward garden can be a couple of weeks. A large transformation with tree removal, drainage, walling and full paving runs longer. We give you a realistic window with the quote and we don't start your garden then vanish onto another job — the same crew stays on it until it's finished.
Usually, yes. Most waterlogged lawns in this area are a mix of compacted clay subsoil, no fall, and nowhere for water to go. Depending on what we find we'll dig in land drains to a soakaway, regrade the levels so water runs off, break up the compaction and re-turf on fresh topsoil.
We'd rather sort the drainage first than lay a beautiful lawn on top of the same problem.
Yes. Tree and stump removal, old sheds, rotten decking, broken concrete, redundant walls and years of overgrowth all come out as part of the job, and it all goes off site. It's usually the first stage before we can even see what we're working with.
For most domestic gardens you don't need a separate designer. We'll walk the garden with you, talk through what you actually use it for, and put together a layout and materials list — showing you real jobs we've done locally rather than magazine pictures.
If you've already had a design drawn up by someone else, we're happy to build to it.
Yes, it's all included. Spoil, turf, rubble, old slabs, timber and green waste are removed as we go and the garden is swept and washed down before we hand it back. You don't need to hire a skip or arrange tip runs.
