Stone, slope and gateways that were never a standard size
The south of the borough is different ground again. Chirk gardens tend to be narrow, terraced and stacked up the valley side, with stone walls, awkward accesses and gateways that stopped being a standard width about a hundred years ago. Off-the-shelf gate kits rarely fit anything here.
That's why we build gates to measure. Timber or composite infill on a welded steel frame, hung on hardware that suits the weight, sized to the gap you've actually got rather than the nearest 900mm. Same with fencing: on a sloping run the panels get stepped or raked so the top line follows the ground properly instead of leaving triangular gaps at the bottom.
For patios, the limiting factor is usually access and levels rather than the paving itself. We'll look at how material gets in and out before quoting, and price the retaining and groundwork honestly, because on a valley-side garden that's most of the job.

My gateway is an odd size. Can you still fit a gate?
Yes — that's normal round Chirk and it's why we make them rather than buy them in. We measure the opening on site, build the gate on a welded steel frame to that size, and clad it in timber or composite to match your fencing.
It also means we can deal with sloping ground under the gate, brick or stone pillars, and a rising hinge if the drive falls away.
Can you fence a boundary that slopes?
Yes. The run gets stepped or raked so the fence follows the ground line. Done properly there's no triangular gap under each panel for pets to get through, and the top line looks deliberate rather than accidental.
Access to my garden is tight. Is that a problem?
Not usually, but it changes the method, so we check it before pricing. Narrow entries mean barrowing material in and spoil out rather than machining it, which takes longer — we'd rather tell you that up front than add it on afterwards.
Do you charge extra to come out to Chirk?
No. Chirk, Chirk Bank, Black Park, Froncysyllte, Acrefair, Cefn Mawr, Rhosymedre and Ruabon are all inside our normal working area.
