Feather edge fencing and custom gates in Brymbo
A full boundary replacement in feather edge on concrete posts, with bespoke gates made to fit.
The job
What we did in Brymbo
The old fence had gone the way most timber-post fences go: leaning panels, rotten posts at ground level, and a gate that had dropped enough to catch on the path every time it opened.
The replacement went in on concrete posts with gravel boards at the bottom. This is the detail that decides how long a fence lasts — the concrete takes the ground contact and the timber never sits in wet soil, so the feather edge above it stays sound for years longer.
The gates were built to measure rather than bought off a shelf, so they fit the openings properly and hang square. The difference between the before and after photos is mostly about straight lines: level tops, consistent gaps and posts that are actually vertical.
