Composite fence and bespoke gate in Pen-y-Cae
Composite fence panels with a bespoke steel-framed gate — a boundary built to be left alone.
The job
What we did in Pen-y-Cae
Composite fencing costs more at the start than timber and then stops costing anything. It doesn't rot, doesn't need treating, and doesn't go silver and warped after a couple of wet winters, which makes it a sensible choice for a boundary you don't want to think about again.
The panels here slot between posts set in concrete, so the whole run is straight and rigid. The gate was made to measure on a steel frame rather than a timber one — a wide gate in composite needs that, otherwise it drops on the hinge side within a year.
The result is a modern, low-maintenance boundary with a gate that swings properly and latches the same way in July as it does in January.
