What we did in Rossett

This was a full garden job rather than just a patio. The ground needed holding before anything else could happen, so sleeper retaining walls went in first to take the level change and create a flat, usable terrace.

Raj blend Indian sandstone was laid across the main area. It is a warmer, more varied stone than Kandla grey — browns and buffs running through it — which suits a garden with a lot of planting around it.

New beds were formed against the sleepers and finished with Staffordshire gravel, which ties the planting areas to the paving without introducing a third material that fights with the stone.
