Composite gate installation in Borras
A modern composite gate hung between existing brick pillars.
The job
What we did in Borras
Hanging a gate between existing brick pillars is less forgiving than fitting one between timber posts. The opening is fixed and rarely perfectly square, so the gate has to be made to the measurements actually on site rather than a standard size.
Composite was chosen for the same reasons it gets chosen for fencing — it doesn't rot, warp or need painting, and it keeps its colour. On a gate that matters even more than on a fence, because a warped gate stops closing properly.
Fixings were set into the brickwork to take the weight, so the gate swings freely and latches cleanly.
